6 Day Cod Hole/Coral Sea Combination

Undersea Explorer the vessel The vessel, Undersea Explorer, is a purpose built 24 metre adventure diving liveaboard vessel. She is fully air-conditioned and can accommodate 20 passengers, 5 crew and up to 2 scientists comfortably. Cabins are all twin share (queen or bunk style) with share bathrooms. There are a number of large areas for group discussions, relaxing and the opportunity to simply escape for it all.

On Undersea Explorer you will explore the Great Barrier Reef, the world’s largest coral reef system, with diverse life forms, including over 400 species of hard and soft corals, over 4000 species of mollusc (sea shells) and over 1500 species of fish.

Dive the Ribbon Reefs and Pixie Pinnacle. Two incredible days of diving at Osprey Reef in the Coral Sea, 1000metre (3000ft) vertical walls and 40m (120ft) visibility (occasionally 3 days are spent in the Coral Sea). North Horn has the most reliable sharks in Australia including grey whalers, white and silver tips and schooling scalloped hammerheads (July). Schools of barracuda and large dog tooth tuna are always nearby. Night divers may expect to see rare flashlight fish as they swim in and out of crevasses.

Dive the world famous Cod Hole with the resident potato cod, moray eels, giant wrasse and sweetlips. Explore Lizard Island, hike to Captain Cooks lookout or laze on the beach. Evening barbeque ashore. Passengers will enjoy a further 2 days of diving the Ribbon reefs before disembarking in Port Douglas at 5:00pm.

Booking procedure

We strongly advise that you pre-book your liveaboard trip as availability may be limited if you leave it until you arrive in Cairns. You can pre-book your liveaboard trip by emailing us with your preferred travel date, names of passengers travelling and your credit card details, as we require payment in full to confirm your booking. Once we have completed your booking we will send you confirmation by email.

Cancellation policy

  • Cancellations made 180 days before departure will result in a refund of deposit less a $500 administration fee.
  • Cancellation made between 180-60 days prior to initial departure date WILL result in a loss of 30% of full payment.
  • Cancellation made 60 days or less prior to departure will result in a complete forfeiture of full charter fees.
